Interwinter Results & Report

Jul17

UPDATED Interwinter Results are HERE.

A great turnout despite the somewhat wintery conditions – we were probably blessed that the sunshine peaked through in Melbourne, so everyone packed the bike in the car and headed north. ?Over 130 riders contested the senior classes, and eight dirtmasters took to the trail (and the piggy pinata!) in the support race. Despite being greeted with dampness, I think all will be glad they made the journey for the inagural Walmer State Forest Race.  While the president’s pre-race prediction of no mud was probably a little optimistic, word from the track was that it remained fun albeit a little slippery – it is winter racing!

Next & final round of the Interwinter Series will be the first chance to race the re-opened You Yangs Trails, 0n 21 August 2011. Check the Geelong Mountain Bike Club Website for all the fine print.

A big thanks to KR Castlemaine, Vaughan Springs Winery & Cycle Concepts Castlemaine for providing lots of giveaway goodies and tucker for the barby, and a big thumbs up to our piggy Anthony Breen – remember to support his cause to provide an AIDS clinic for children in Cambodia – DONATE HERE.
