$500,000 for Goldfields Track
The December issue of POST gave an overview of the Goldfields Track Development Project and noted that the Goldfields Track Committee had applied for a Commonwealth TQUAL Grant of $500,000 from AusIndustry, a division of the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. I am delighted to advise that the Committee was successful and we will receive the full grant of $500,000 to upgrade the track. The Goldfields Committee application was one of only four in Australia that received the full grant funding that was available to applicants.
The application summary stated that the Goldfields Track will deliver a unique, inter-regional, shared bushwalking and mountain bike experience in central Victoria.
The project involves the collaboration of private sector operators, local tourism organisations and local governments. The TQUAL Grant fu nding will be used for track upgrades, new sections of track, new bridges, signage, mapping and marketing activities.
We’ll bring you progress reports via future issues of POST.
Cheers!!
