Ben Bailey. King Dirt Critter 2011

Ben Bailey. King Dirt Critter 2011

Well that’s Dirt Crits for 2011 done and dusted. The 8 race series has been a huge success and I’d like to thank everyone who attended, raced, took photos, helped out and cheered from the side of the track. It’s great fun running the event and I hope every one has had a great time racing. Dirt Crits will be back in February 2012 with a replenished prize pool and a new series comp.

Congratulations to all the winners. Wear your Vintage Rocky Riders jerseys with pride.

I look forward to seeing you all next year.

Australian Standards Approve Helmets. GET ONE!

Dec2

If you have entered a major MTB event this year you have no doubt come across the increasing insistence that participants must wear an Australian standards approved helmet. This is due to certain stipulations in the MTBA liability insurance that covers you and the clubs for these events.

What this boils down to is that if you want to partisapate in any future Castlemaine Rocky Riders events, like the 6hr or Dirt Crits, you must be wearing an Australian standards approved helmet. If not then you we’ll have to send you to the naughty corner and you won’t be allowed to join in with all the fun.

With Christmas is almost upon us it is the perfect time to ask Santa, Jesus, Cathullu, your mum or whoever for an upgrade to replace that old illegal bucket. If you have a cyclist in the family with a contraband lid, what better way is there to tell that precious someone that you love them, you want them to be able to go out and play with their friends and you like them best with out cycle accident induced brain damage, than to give them a brand spanking new bike Australian standards approved helmet as a gift.

Happy holidays and Ride safe.
